Jesse had a soccer game last night. They had a short practice and the usual warm up drills, only Jesse got hurt when she and a team mate hit the ball at the same time. I think she strecthec a ligament or a muscle on the outside of her knee. One of the few times I have ever seen her lay on the ground after a collision. After a few minutes she said she was OK and went on to play the whole game as goalie. And she was spectacular! They were not only playing a much better team, but her team, especially the defense was flat. Her team managed to eek out a 1-0 lead at the half. Then her defense went brain dead several times 4-5 would be in the box and make no move at all to stop the opposing forwards, but Jesse still held them off until she was blocked from the ball by her own team and then faced an excellent forward from less than PK distance 1v1 who put it on the back far post, with Jesse making a diving try, full layout. And there was one brilliannt pass and chip over her head she just missed getting to. They lost 3-1. Jesse was player of the game for her team and even the other team and the ref had nothing but praise for her. After the game she finally admitted that her knee hurt a lot. So we iced it and will see how it does.

Memories of 9 Years in Akka is an excellent book. Right up there with Adib Taherzadeh"s 4 volume set on the Revelation of Baha'u'llah. On pages 279 to 280 is an important elucidation by Abdu'l-Baha on service. It is an essential read for those planning or doing acts of service. I believe it is the failure to heed this counsel that brings less than ideal results from our acts of service, but don't rely on me, just closely read Abdu'l-Baha and ponder on it for yourselves, it is the only way to lean and grow spiritually, action on your self and action in the world.
